Hey all,
I've updated Edit to version 0.82 and have fixed a lot of bugs and made some additional improvements to it, such as the ability to load a blank file on startup or not.
Joe, thanks for the update. It's good to see people working actively on their project(s).
4) As of right now, /H DOES NOT WORK. It does not work, has not worked and unless someone wants to write an algorithm to determine the maximum number of lines a screen can handle (not which one it is currently set at), it'll just sit there.
does /nnn work (open file in binary mode, nnn characters per line) MS EDIT has it, and as EDIT is a '*improved* MSDOS EDIT editor', it should be implemented?
looks like UPX command was not performed, despite the makefile mentioning it correctly. Probably no UPX installed on your system?
I don't know what features and/or remarks Eric might have, but I think from now on all changes should be against your freshly released 0.82,
not his 0.7(A) version.
Bugzilla still mentions the following EDIT reports:
#1763 (arrowkeys don't work in YES/NO dialogue screen, like 'file changed, save changes? only TAB works).
Bug is still valid. EDIT from MSDOS allows to use cursorkeys, EDIT in Win2000 only allows TAB. Strange design decision by MS..
#1778 - something about windows closing.
Bernd
