This not relates to "old hardware". "Shared pool" mean, that both XMS
and EMS use common memory, from which they allocate memory. Currently, if
you _reserve_ some memory for _future_ use through EMS, it cutted and not
available through XMS (even if it is not yet allocated through EMS).
