I just tested AUGOS with EMM386 using EMM= option values counting from 1420K to 1585K in 5K increments, plus 2048, at SLOWDOWN'ed 22% of actual CPU. That was more fun than a barrel of tubercular monkeys, let me tell you.

So if AUGOS breaks, it's an environment problem specific to a different machine.
