Hi,
The ISO still uses the graphical installer, which needs 3-4 MB of free RAM and a 486dx (386 plus FPU, that is), do we care? The text mode installer is free from those pointless InstallShield-cloned looks and pointless klik-thru GNU license and it would work on pre-486dx/8mb PCs.
I assume that the graphic installer maintainer doesn't like to hear wether "we care". I don't know what's wrong with the new installer, as I seem to remember that you can choose the one you like within the install process, which is ok. I also seem to remember that on pre-486 machines (non VGA) the text mode installer is chosen automatically. Some eye-candy and some easiness for choosing disks, packages, etc will not harm, avoid them and use the text mode installer if you like.
