It wasn't .CAB. I've forgotten what it was, but it had a file called
extract.exe - if I remember correctly.
MS-DOS included an EXPAND.EXE tool, which could decompress the files on the
MS-DOS setup disk (LZ-compressed). This format was superceded by .CAB in
Windows 95. Some years ago I wrote, with the help of some WINE code, a
replacement for EXPAND.EXE, if such a thing is wanted in FreeDOS, but
considering that FreeDOS itself doesn't use this format, I'm not sure how
useful it would be.
