I don't cringe, just snicker :) I wasn't in fact serious, hence the smileys, which I think are normally not used when folks are expressing moral outrage :)

It was difficult to tell. Perhaps you have never met an activist adherent of the LDS church, aka Mormons. Off-line and on- they are frequently outspoken in their requests to sanitize the world to their particular liking, while remaining unflaggingly polite. Their smiles -- emoticon and real -- are in ready supply throughout any ensuing debate. They are no less the serious about their requests for that.

Such behavior isn't limited to activist Mormons, of course...
