Hi Alain, the fsinfo sector is not the same as the MBR, so your answer alas has nothing to do with my question ;-)

The fsinfo sector is a sector which stores statistics (like "location of first free cluster") about FAT32 drives, so every FAT32 partition can have a fsinfo sector (actually two, as the FAT32 boot- and related sectors usually are stored in one main and one backup copy).
