Normally, I would be in 100% sympathy and agreement with that idea. 1.0 shouldn't wait on a single application (unless it's one of the top ten DOS applications) . But this isn't a single application. This is in a language compiler, and thus the problem is potentially is in an entire _class_ of applications. Plus, it's a popular compiler. There could be a serious amount of failures out there due to this. But that's just my speculation. Maybe there is only one problem application.
