This does not seem to happen with EDIT 0.7d, so apparently
something went wrong in the event / message pumping in the
version of EDIT which you are using, e.g. in editbox.c as
far as the source is concerned, e.g. related to "marking".

Please give some more details about which version of EDIT
you are using, which keyboard and keyboard driver, and if
using the mouse for menus still works when keys are stuck.
