I'd recommend only using it in virtual machines.
I'll try uploading a slightly improved version sometime soon, as the announcement has hit OSNEWS. People booting the CD then failing to get to the setup part from CD, will otherwise cause a huge amount of complaints. ELTORITO and SHSUCDHD/SHSUCDRD parts work, UIDE part not yet. In effect, booting from CD (or USB with ISO) works, booting from a setup diskette not yet. Detecting driveletters is 1 thing, verifying if there's a disk in the drive, with ISO9660 filesystem, with data, being FreeDOS install, is another. The ODIN part (ready to run binaries) of the CD was reworked last night as well, but not sure which files are required besides binaries from packages. List of additional files as found (\FREEDOS\SETUP\ODIN\)in FD1.0: BOOTFIX ADD AUTOEXEC.BAT CALLVER CD2ISO86 (replaced by OMI, copy CD to ISO) CDRCACHE (might add this as package) CMD8086 DISK_SIM.CFG DRVON DU EDIT.CFG (from Edit 0.7d?) FDCONFIG.SYS FIPS.DOC/EXE (partitioning tool) FREETEST GETLINE INIADD LFN2SFN LOCALIZE LOCATE MD5SUM (update to Blair's 3.0final I guess) METABOOT META-ALL MORESYS OSCHECK PART PARTSIMP PBATCH PG RERROR RESTORRB SPFDISK SVTXT TICKLE WHICHFAT XDEL XFDISK XMSSIZE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable. Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes sense of it. IT sense. And common sense. http://p.sf.net/sfu/splunk-d2d-c2 _______________________________________________ Freedos-devel mailing list Freedos-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-devel
