Hi folks. Charlie here again. Broke my wrist at the end of June. Been offline for awhile, couldn't type.
This brings up the notion I offered awhile back that FreeDOS on a modern Intel box might be a great work station for scientists and engineers with the right app support. I may look at porting over my genome browser this winter or next spring. A couple corrections. I remembered that the later versions of DOSHELL did indeed task switch but it had the same problems I went over about earlier Windows task switching on 286s. Also it would appear the biggest DOS partition would have enough room for genome files. The larger ones are fish and the largest of all is a frik'in amoeba for some reason and they might be a bit awkward. Maybe I admitted this one earlier (been a long summer). Oh well I'm an engineer. We're good at admitting our ignorance. Cheers Folks and Welcome Joey. Charlie B.
