I'm okay with this concept. I realize I am late in this discussion, but we could have a "Power user" install BAT script. The primary/default FreeDOS install process could mention that "Power users" may want to use the alternative install process called ADVANCED.BAT or SETUP.BAT or some other name that makes sense.
