(Just in case this email is delayed for delivery: Today is March 2, 11:15AM US/Central time)
I wanted to let folks know that SourceForge is still having problems. The news items for the FreeDOS website are hosted at SF, so the website is currently showing a blank "What's New" section. Our FreeDOS wiki, bug tracker, code repository, and email list archives are also at SF, so these are currently down as well. I don't know much about what's happened at SourceForge, but here's what I know: SourceForge planned to move operations to a new data center during Feb 12-15. That migration went much longer than planned. SF reported they were still responding to issues about a week later on Feb 23. On Feb 25, SourceForge said they were being DDOS'd. I don't know details. Later on Feb 25, SF reported they were stable again. On Feb 28, SourceForge said they were "experiencing issues." I don't know if the "issues" are related to the DDOS or the data center move. Last night, Mar 1, SF posted this announcement to Twitter: "We now have a much better idea as to what is causing the recent performance issues. We're now executing a plan to get SourceForge back to full capacity. We may be some hours off yet, but our team is working around the clock until stability is restored. Thank you for your patience" https://twitter.com/sfnet_ops/status/969377360129773568 I don't know when the issues will be resolved. If this is still a problem when I get home from work today, I'll put a temporary news item on the FreeDOS front page to let folks know that SourceForge is having problems, so some SF-hosted things may be down.
