Argh…. All of this talk about VGA frame rates, alpha masks, sprites and pixels, you are really making me want to write a 2D DOS gaming engine.
lol. Anyhow, you said you wanted to do your code in “Pure C”. From my personal experience, a lot of the information on the web pertaining to very low level graphics programming is incomplete at best. Vesa, SuperVGA, VGA, MCGA, EGA, CGA and etc are very old. They predate the internet becoming popular. Consider picking up a good old book. Graphics Programming in C: A Comprehensive Resource for Every C Programmer : Covers Cga, Ega, and Vga Graphic Displays and Includes a Complete Toolbox of graphic routines and sample programs. (1988) Only $35 on Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/Graphics-Programming-Comprehensive-Resource-Programmer/dp/1558510184/ You may save yourself a lot of wasted time, frustration and headaches. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ Freedos-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-devel
