Yep, and so we haven't needed to update the LSM format. It still meets our
needs.

Waaaaay back when I wrote the installer, I wanted a way to preserve package
metadata. And I wanted it to be simple for people to write the metadata,
and simple to parse. I looked around and found the LSM format from Linux
fit what I was looking for, and that's how we came to use the LSM format.

And we haven't needed to change it, or we would have done that.
