I actually connected to the internet from DR-DOS 7.03 and FreeDOS when I had
Realtek 8139 ethernet.

But with the newer computer, I don't know if I can connect with Realtek 8111E
or 8168.

I downloaded something but don't really know if I can make it work:

Other matter I am curious about is if it is possible to access the internet
from an OS that does not have the ethernet driver, using PXE boot.

This would be of interest not only for FreeDOS but also for Linux and *BSD.

Motherboards now seem to support PXE.
