GW-BASIC is the same as IBM Advanced BASIC, except that it does not require Cassette BASIC in ROM. Prior to 3.2 with the exception of Compaq, there are differences - but I don't think this was intentional.

DEF SEG is necessary for BLOAD and BSAVE to operate on screen memory - something I did a lot on my old 5160.
