Hi all,

Current status of building a new NGE_Nibbles binary:
1)
<http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/repositories/1.3/games/nge_nibb.zip>
is crap for compiling on Windows XP, because of the uppercase and short
filenames. Using "set lfn=n" helps a little, but then ld.exe doesn't
find libstdcxx, because that's nice chars. Now using
2) Source code doesn't compile out-of-the-box. Has missing #include
directives and "garbage" after "#endif"s.
3) Created binary doesn't work as expected. The snake already dies
directly w/o pressing a single key or after a cursor key has been
pressed. Original binary just works fine.
4) Applied Eric's patch, but it didn't notice a difference in speed of
NGE_Nibbles in DOSBox. (The original already run fine.)

As the original source code doesn't build unmodified, I doubt the
already released binary has been build from that source code (version).

I'm currently not sure, if I will invest more time in NGE_Nibbles.

Anyway, I uploaded some Nibbles.exe for testing:
1) Just modified to make it build with GXX 4.3.2:
https://www.bttr-software.de/tmp/nge_nibbles/Nibbles_exe.zip
2) Eric's patch applied:
https://www.bttr-software.de/tmp/nge_nibbles/Nibbles_exe2.zip
3) Rebuild of 2) with GXX 3.4.4:
https://www.bttr-software.de/tmp/nge_nibbles/Nibbles_exe3.zip

Just copy over to your existing NGE_Nibbles installation and report your
results.

Cheers,
Robert
