I forgot about PC-GEOS, or simply didn't connect it to GEOS.

Yes, PC-GEOS is probably the best public domain GUI (on DOS or anything else),
probbly much better then anything the FreeDOS distribution provides 
(without testing any of the others beside GEM).

there is nothing wrong with a website pointing to many different alternatives 
for anything,
but a distribution should make decisions.
