CGA 320x200 was displayed on 640x300, you'd see for instance amber,
"brown", and black.
The "brown" just looked like low intensity amber, as every other pixel
was displayed, like
this for palette 0 (black/green/red/yellow)
 x x x   -> green looks like brown
x x x    -> red also looks like brown, but the pixels shifted by one
xxxxx  -> yellow looks like amber
of course the CGA palette was irrelevant but most games were playable.
