I just ran FD 1.4 RC1 with the new command.com 0.86 and the jemm in virtualbox, booted all three options more than 10 times, executed "reboot" - and at least at this trial there were no crashes.
Please do not worry about the package!

I frankly would be surprised if it would fix it.
Might wait that it been packaged for FreeDOS.
Who is the more likely to package it?
I guess I could get a look at how previous version was package and see how I could help if it is unknown whose responsability it is (seems to have no maintainer field).
