Short-ish version… Current version of Repository management software (fdrepo) automatically updates the repo once per day. When it does that, it looks for the existence of a couple things. For example, it looks for the RSS feed & CDROM.ISO. If there were package updates and that file exists, it will be updated. If it does not exist, it will not be recreated. Recently in preparation for the eminent release of FreeDOS 1.4, I purged the “latest” repository of all files. The repository has grown a lot and the ISO really is no longer will fit on a CD and would require a DVD. Unsure if we should still call it a CDROM.ISO, or change it to DVD.ISO, or if anyone is actually even using it, I have not told it to start making after the purge.
