It used to be directly supported by web browsers. At one time, FireFox could 
even create a “bookmark” for a feed that would change automatically when new 
content was added. 

But, all that stuff has disappeared from modern browsers. It now requires 
additional software to “read” an RSS feed. 

As far as I know, there are not any RSS readers for DOS. 

At some point, I would like to add support for the online repositories to 
FDIMPLES. But, it won’t use RSS for tracking updates. Instead, it will use the 
CSV (comma separated version, spreadsheet type file) created by both FDRepo v2 
& v3 to determine what files are available and/or have been updated. 

If you visit on of the download/update repositories (like 
https://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/repositories/1.4/pkg-html/index.html
 ) managed by FDRepo v2, there are links at the bottom of the main page to the 
CSV and RSS files.

But again, without special software, the RSS feed will just be an odd looking 
XML file.
