Well, this is kidding.

However (reading the first section only) there is one really important
sentence:

"Amazon is not alone at fault in what is happening. The US Patent Office
is to blame for having very low standards, and US courts are to blame for
endorsing them."

I cannot blame Amazon for trying to make money from ideas of others, but
the US P.O. for helping them. I mean read the article's summary about the
patent: "The idea is that your command in a web browser to buy a certain
item can carry along information about your identity. (It works by sending
the server a "cookie", a kind of ID code that your browser received
previously from the same server.)" Actually: What have been cookies
invented for? This is called session tracking in many books about
so-called web-programming. Who was the inventor - Netscape? Definitely not
Amazon.

But this is the bad face of Copyright/patent law, esp. when it becomes
combined with IT and ill-knowledged functionaries (or whatever those
persons working at the patent offices are called).

Well, lastly triggered by the software patent stuff there seems to
increase the people, who blame politics and economy for abusing Copyright
and patent and that both are simply an anachronism of times of oppressions
and failing goverment (aka Royals) and have to be liberated for todays
needs - ever digged in history about where they come from -> "Copyright"
is meant very literally.

Bye,
