My 9-year Linux time ended in 2002, so I usually let the kernel compile itself (a goot test ;-)


and here there are 120 fewer bytes. But the object file contains more than just code...

Of course, but why are there such big differences, when the only thing that has changed between the two compilations was that particular code chunk?
