Hi!
Well, looks like Bart is gone. Who now will manage the kernel
(reconcile patches, update CVS, release intermediate snapshots)? For
example, my current todo contains at least 6 bugfixes for dsk.c, and 2 which
I don't know how to handle. Beside this, there optimized out some hundreths
of bytes.
Until someone else steps up and has the time, if wanted, I can do my best to apply patches for bugfixes to the kernel cvs sources. I should already have the necessary access to commit to cvs, but do not do so as I do not wish to step on anyone elses toes. If there are no objections, then about once a week I will go through the kernel mailing list archives [I no longer assume I get all my emails, as my mail box fills up daily with spam and false bounce messages] and apply patches or initiate further discussion. I will send a message to the list to indicate what patches are applied, so if I miss any or whatever, we can can discuss them further. This will pretty much be apply patches only, as I doubt I will have the time for indepth bug solving. As soon as Bart, Tom, or whomever deemed appropriate wants to continue doing so, I'll go back into my lurk mode.
Is this acceptable? or is there someone else already doing this? wanting to do it? etc.
