Personally, I find it amazing that FreeDOS's CDROM subsystem is slower than a floppy disc, but DR-DOS 7.03 is lightning fast. Apples versus oranges, though, I guess :)
our cdrom-driver is still in alpha-stage, sometimes generating errors and surely no DMA-support. copy your own cdrom-driver over the \freedos\atapicdd.sys on the bootdisk, and things should go much faster.
a new KEYB package and keyboard layouts might be announced somewhere in the next week.
