The problem, Kristaps, is that the "plain text and HTML" option is
defaulting to HTML by most readers, incl. Outlook Express, and Mozilla
Thunderbird I do believe.  The concept was that a plain text viewer would
read the mime information, correctly select the plain text, and all would be
well.  While an HTML viewer would read the mime information, correctly
select HTML, and all would be well (though HTML mail is evil, see my
previous rants).

The problem for Bernd it seems is that very few mail readers offer a choice
to "switch formats".  Why, if I had it my way, I'd reprogram the servers at
sf.net's listserv to allow a moderator option to strip all HTML and force
all messages to only be in plain text, through the MIME information.  But
then, that's my opinion, and everyone's allowed to be wrong. :)
