ASM>Why not commenting on them, so that we know what the problem is, and
ASM>help us fix EMM386?

  I did so several times in this list and,before I could post to it,
directly to Michael Devore.

 As an update, I tried today to use EMM386 (version 15)while online.
 Lynx 2.8.5,which I recently installed,would not start. Lynx 2.8.4
was noticeably slower and accessed the disk far more often than usual (that
is,without EMM) and crashed after about 10minutes with the message:
  Page fault cr2=101abf20 in RMCB at eip=1abf20;flags=3006
  eax=000206e8 ebx=00000030 ecx=00000030 edx=000200e0
  esi=00000500 edi=0029fba0 ebp=003501a0 esp=00350164
  cs=a7 ds=b7 es=b7 fs=b7 gs=b7 ss=b7 error=0004
 Which I presume is a DPMI message.

 When I was composing the first version of this message (still online),
the following suddenly appeared:
       Panic:more than two near fnodes requested at same time
and I had to reboot (now without EMM).

 This is not a reproducible sequence. Things as these seem to happen at random.
 Since I want EMS just for a couple of CAD programs and DOS boots very quickly,
I can live fairly well with a config.sys option.

 Anyway,this is not a problem of FreeDOS only - behaviour of these programs
with DR-DOS EMM386.SYS is,if anything,worse.

 Regards
  JAS
