Hi Jeremy,

I am using Build 2035a which is the latest stable build IIRC. I am sorry for misreporting, I already corrected my findings in a previous mail to the list. I dare say I pretty much goofed up as much as I could :(

Loaded xmsdsk in config.sys instead of autoexec.bat, hence the crash.
Another crash with an obviously outdated version of ntfs4dos. (fixed later on) And another crash with build 2035 before (but at least I managed to get the most current stable build for kernel.sys myself *g*).

Once again, I am sorry for the false alarm. DOS days are rather long ago for me and I am still a bit annoyed to find out how much knowledge got wiped out from my brain during my work on Windows. M$ must be evil! *ggg*

Kind regards,
Andre

what kernel version are you using?
it may (or may not) help to use the latest stable kernel,
http://www.fdos.org/kernel/KERNEL.SYS

Please do keep us (well at least me) informed about any compatibility issues or
other anomalies.

Jeremy

Hi there,

I am currently experimenting with FreeDOS to track down something very strange (I'll post about that as soon as I have more details verified), but for now I am already stuck at the beginning:
..
Any suggestions what to try now?

Kind regards,
Andre
