Email threading is not subject line based either - if
you use the proper email software ;-).

Which is what makes it so easy for spammers...

Otoh, I got loads of Wiki spam, guestbook spam, even
FAQ spam, recently also ICQ spam (people guess logins
and then plug spambots to them), so everything has
spammers and everything starts to use filters to keep
them out.
