Why do you need recommendations at all? There so many models of mice that
will work without problems. Obviously a negative list would be much
shorter.

Wireless mice shouldn't be a problem. The only problem are wheel mice,
because you need special driver, e.g., CuteMouse 2.0 alpha 4, and
application support to use the wheel in DOS.
