Hi, I have been trying to format a CF card to boot FreeDOS on an embedded PC/104 system. I have tried a lot of different methods to get the card and PC to work together, but have so far been unsuccessful. The closest I have got was using UNetBootin, but when I boot the system, I have to make a selection on how to boot every time. Since I am using an embedded system, this is not a desirable situation, since the unit will be operated without monitor or keyboard nearly 100% of the time.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for how I could format and install FreeDOS on the card from my XP machine (via USB adapter) and then transfer the card to the PC/104 system. I have tried booting FreeDOS from the CD and installing it that way, but it does not recognize the CF card that way. I have also tried copying various FreeDOS images onto the card, but that typically causes errors when trying to boot into FreeDOS. I am rather inexperienced with FreeDOS, so more complex methods might be too difficult for me, but any help would be appreciated.
