Hi

I've been trying to get this working now for a few hours and am stumped.

I am trying to create a bootable USB stick that uses grub and boots to freedos.

I followed the instructions on this page to do the initial build.

http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/FreeDOS_Flash_Drive

I couldn't get that working so tried the odin2880.img instead with the
same result, the error message(s) are

IO error and cylinders > 1023

can't find command.com

please enter path to..........

The usb stick I'm using is 4gb so then tried different size partitions
all the way down to 25mb to see if that would fix the problem.

After reading a lot I came across a post suggesting that the unstable
kernel in odin2880.img could be the cause of the problem so downloaded
the latest kernel for fat16 and installed that into the odin2880.img
instead.

Still no solution but the errors were reported slightly differently so
the new kernel was trying to load.

Could anyone on the list possibly point me to an easy solution to
this? I tried unetbootin earlier before using the method above and
that would just hang the box during the boot with no messages
onscreen.

I feel I'm going round in circles now and if someone can even suggest
an alternate to freedos to use I'd try it.

Thanks in advance.
