I don't think it frees any memory. I think DISPLAY permanently loads
enough for four (4) codepages, aka 64 kb. I don't know all the
details, though.

But yes, MODE can re-load a different code page into already-allocated
memory from disk. I forget offhand the exact syntax, but I do remember
running it again (with a well-placed comma) to load yet another
codepage from entirely different CPX file.
