To be quite honest, I know it may seem a bit illogical to do but, I am trying
to move myself towards a more traditional (retro?) way of computing. Learning
how to use the Linux system from the terminal was the start, and now I am
trying to use freeDOS. It is a bit of a learning curve though, for some
reason... or maybe I am just not fully understanding the freeDOS way.
For example, I used FDIMPLES to install some software that I thought would be
useful to have, including the FREEMACS program. I have yet to be able to find
it on my freeDOS system. I see that some things that I had installed, take pico
for example, can be invoked from just about anywhere on the system, but almost
everything else that I installed, I cannot even find.
Is there something that I am missing, or is there a method to the way (and
where) things are installed? Maybe a quick beginners course is due for me :) .
I really like the work flow from the terminal (or command line), and I think
that this is where I am going to be from now on. I'm attracted to it, and
getting all of your work done IS possible to do this way.
I will figure this out,
I WILL contribute everything.
