You should have done like Liam tells you from the beginning. He provides correct, detailed and verified steps. The operation is as simple as booting DOS from a removable drive (CD/floppy/USB) to run a single executable... Any other method is likely to either not work or damage your PC (esp. if you follow what Michael C. Robinson has been suggesting). Using Windows to update a BIOS firmware looks perhaps like an easy way out, but I wouldn't risk my PC with it myself, even if it's one of the methods suggested by the motherboard producer.
