Suppose that you have good support in the BIOS for your USB keyboard, USB mouse and USB mass storage. Then you install the USB LPT driver by Bret Johnson, which takes over the whole UHCI, and may render your BIOS support for KB + Mouse + mass storage dead in the water :-/
