Hi!
So we now know that you have to use a non-ancient UDVD2 version for CD audio playback (not the FreeDOS 1.2 one) and we know that the new version works on real hardware, as confirmed by Vladimiro off-list. So he must have either used an old version of UDVD2, or PCEM fails to emulate something which UDVD2 needs, while other CDROM drivers manage to play audio nevertheless. However, if PCEM has a bug, or if we want to ask what the difference could be, it would need a new maintainer: "14th June 2021 Just a quick note to say that I (Sarah Walker) have decided to quit. Thanks to those who sent messages of support, they are really appreciated. Also thanks to those who have supported me and the project over the last decade or so. If anyone is interested in taking over the project and the github repository, please contact me." https://pcem-emulator.co.uk/ While I do not know how popular PCEM is, it is always sad when projects are left without their founders / maintainers, so I hope PCEM will find a new one and Sarah Walker has cool projects for the future :-) Regards, Eric _______________________________________________ Freedos-user mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-user
