Huh, you're right. I just got to https://freedos.org/ and the page source begins with a HTML5 declaration of <!DOCTYPE html> rather than the much more verbose declaration from previous language versions. I would have not suspected that.

Anyways, I can imagine this could be an issue if and only if, there are no HTML5 enabled browsers on FreeDOS. To support the full HTML5 spec would be bit of an overkill, as there's space for DRM content.
