Hi,

FreeDOS is definitely not able to do anything useful with a pure GPT table, but if you follow the instructions for creating a BIOS boot capable GPT table, that is, with hybrid MBR, then FreeDOS will be able to use the hybrid MBR. Done that many times before with FreeDOS and Windows 98 SE. Basically any MBR-only OS can be made to work like this.

Best regards,

Michał

Hello,

are you sure you used MBR layout? FreeDOS is not able to read the GPT layout.

Hi,

According to gparted, the drive where I want to install FreeDOS is
partitioned. https://easthope.ca/gparted.jpg

I want to install FreeDOS in the first part.

According to the FreeDOS installer, the drive is not partitioned.

Can that be reconciled? Can FreeDOS be installed in the first part
without repartitioning.

Thanks, ... Peter E.
