There's a lot of good stuff for OS/2 (Rexx, OpenWatcom, etc).
(Though since even Linux stopped building 32-bit binaries of Firefox,
I worry for OSes like yours.)

It actually runs the build in IBM PC DOS directly on bare metal on machines
running UEFI.

No small feat! Refurbished IBM Thinkpads are always popular for things
like this.

A lot of work went into a driver that emulates the VGA EGA, CGA and Hercules. But I can run here old Sierra games etc.

I am was looking for a developer who want to help to help getting a long
standing project finished. This is a driver that emulates SB 16 in
DOS sessions with a so called Virtual Device Driver. But you need to
have experience with x86 assembly and using a debugger.

Obvious question: don't you have a port of DOSBox (SDL)? (I assume yes
since even Haiku has one.)

Because the DOS code gets executed directly on the CPU, which is quicker. I can run Wordperfect 6.0a in 1280 x 1024 on bare metal and Intel I7 CPU. But loads of other olds DOS and Windows 3.1 programs run native on the CPU.

Japheth is the obvious person to contact for assembly drivers.

I will look at his GIT page, thank you.

Again sorry for being off topic but people that master X86 assembly are
rare to find. You can reach me privately via [email protected].

Good luck, and keep retro alive! Much love and respect.

(BTW, I still never opened my winter box of pumpkin spice stroopwaffels, doh.)

Stroopwaffels, bad habbit after the season stuff such as XMAS etc. More dangerous sweety stuff :-)

Roderick
