I'm new (first post) and I've already searched the archives before posting this question. So if this has been covered, please direct me to the discussion.

I'm attempting to install FreeDOS on a PicoMEM card in my 8088 XT-class PC. I downloaded the floppy-only images and loaded the x86BOOT.img file onto the PicoMEM's SD card and FreeDOS boots, but stops at "-InitDisk". From what I can tell, this means it is trying to create a USB disk, or disk image (maybe I'm wrong here). My PC has nothing else installed other than a vintage Hercules Graphics display card. No other hard drives or floppy drives.

In the readme file that is included in the FreeDOS download it mentions the need for at least an EGA/VGA adapter. But the general description on the web site says FreeDOS should run on any PC/XT/AT system.

So I think I may have two problems: my minimal hardware configuration, and the installation procedure itself.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thank you,
Greg
