Hi Khaled, There is some basic (but not enabled by default on a5xx) tiled texture support for a5xx (but probably still some bugs w/ various 3d/array texture modes).. The support is better on a6xx where it is enabled by default. But still not enabled at all for a3xx. (And a device like dragonboard 410c is probably easier to work on than a phone, since freedreno depends more or less on upstream kernel support or backporting upstream drm/msm support to whatever random android kernel branch supports a particular device).. there is also the dragonboard 820c for a5xx, but kinda hard to get ahold of one right now (they are backordered atm). So probably tiled texture support for a3xx is a more useful project at this point.
fwiw I have a kmscube branch[1] which I should probably merge to add a tool to help debug various 2d-array + mipmap and 3d + mipmap formats.. something I wrote while working on tiled support for a6xx.
