Hello Eric, I do not know about CentOS, but you can find RHEL guide for FreeIPA here: https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html-single/Identity_Management_Guide/index.html As for Ubuntu, I do not think that FreeIPA is packaged there yet. There were some actions in the past to make that happen but it has not finished yet. If you just want to try FreeIPA, I would recommend using Fedora 18.
