As far as I can tell, this is the way to set NIS domain in RHEL/Fedora. authconfig cannot set NIS domain only, it does unwanted additional magic like enabling rpcbind and ypbind services etc. Alternative is to drop sysctl file to /etc but I do not like it because it would not be the Red Hat standard way of doing NIS domain config.
