Which sssd version is this on what OS? stracing the sssd processes might help, using this in the [domain] section: command = strace -ff -o /tmp/sssd_be_strace /usr/libexec/sssd/sssd_be --debug-level=10 --domain ipa.example.com --uid=0 --gid=0 (You’d need to substitute ipa.example.com <http://ipa.example.com/> for your domain, just see how the processes are invoked normally in systemctl status sssd)
