We need more context to understand the issue. Can you paste more/all of
the replica install log? I don't know where this "must be" message is
coming from, nor what service it is complaining about.

What version of IPA and what distribution are the master and replica
running?

I don't know how adding a CA would impact running kinit but skipping the
connection check often does lead to failures.
