Did you read the guide yet?

In short you stand up a new RHEL 8 (or equivalent) replica with the
--setup-ca flag to replace each of your RHEL 7. Then remove the RHEL 7
server(s) once things are working.

You can do this replacement in any number of ways, removing one RHEL 7
as a RHEL 8 is added, add them all then remove all the RHEL 7, etc. But
you MUST read the documentation because there is very important
information to follow during migration from one release to another.

There is no in-place upgrade between RHEL releases.

You might also check out the ipa-healthcheck package in RHEL-8 which
will look for common pain points. It isn't a guarantee that everything
is fine but it will warn about many common issues.
