The ipa-client package in RHEL 6 is there to prepare the way for FreeIPA v2, which is due out fairly soon. Unfortunately, it isn't the proper way to set up a client of FreeIPA v1. Right now, the normal way to go about this is to use authconfig to set up access to FreeIPA as an LDAP and Kerberos environment, then edit /etc/sssd/sssd.conf and add 'ldap_schema = rfc2307bis' to the [domain/default] section. After that, you can follow the instructions here: http://bit.ly/e1oMYe for setting up a host keytab for SSH single-sign-on. - -- Stephen Gallagher RHCE 804006346421761 Delivering value year after year.
